Villa in Emirates

A desert villa built around a single shaded courtyard.

The site offered shade for forty minutes a day. We rotated the plan eleven degrees to gain another three hours, then carved a courtyard at its centre to do the rest of the work.

Every room looks inward. The desert outside stays outside.
