Dar Mshaf

A café and restaurant inside an 18th-century courtyard house, Old Damascus.

The building was bought as a ruin. We added a glass roof over the central courtyard, placed a kitchen behind the qa'a, and arranged forty seats around the original layout. We removed nothing.

The intervention is invisible until you sit down.
